Yamin’s “Out of The Shadows: Using Human Rights Approaches To Secure Dignity And Well-Being For People With Mental Disabilities” is the main source used to address our problem. Hunt and Mesquita’s “Mental Disabilities and the Human Right to the Highest Attainable Standard of Health” is another source we used to address our problem. The article discusses that people with mental disabilities are neglected and how their human rights are abused. This periodical helped give our group a background on how disabilities where not talked about for the longest time and society is slowly raising awareness. Weinberg claims that awareness of disability rights is still a revelation and needs to be taken care of in order to prosper as a society.
